Claire l. Hamilton
My story
Claire Hamilton is an interior design professor at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Her mixed-media renderings combine photography, watercolor, acrylic, art markers, colored pencil, and pen and ink to capture the spirit of the spaces she loves.
Her subjects often originate from her travels with students on domestic and international study tours, focusing on architecture and interiors. When the 2020 pandemic canceled her London study trip, Claire began a personal challenge, creating one architectural rendering each day from her 2019 travel photos. That summer project ignited a passion that continues today.
Encouraged by friends and family, Claire now shares her work publicly, celebrating the character and nostalgia of Hattiesburg’s most beloved places through expressive linework and color. Each piece tells a story—of place, memory, and the beauty of design.
